Prostate cancer can be a frightening revelation. To help, I was given the opportunity to create an informative video to educate patients and family members.
Working with a script, I started story-boarding and designing digitally in Photoshop and Illustrator. I was aiming for a colorful but subdued, playful yet serious style with strong silhouettes and relatable characters. I wanted to straddle the line between the seriousness of the situation and the light-hearted-ness of positivity and hope.
Once designed and prepped I used After Effects to rig up a few of the secondary characters and proceed with animation. I decided to animate the primary characters frame by frame using Photoshop. I felt the need to allocate a more personal technique for them. Everything else was done in After Effects.

I ended up learning quite a bit about prostate cancer and I'm grateful to have been able to work on this job.
