Born out of a scrapped idea. We decided to create three spots featuring these grungy yet adorable figures getting blasted by a KIA.
Most of the designs were done digitally in Photoshop, with some early work done in paper and pencil. The goal was to give each spot a personality of it's own, but at the same time keep the three of them in a consistent world.
I laid the groundwork for each spot using a pre-vis with early geometry and primitives in Maya and storyboards in Photoshop.
The animation was done using a more traditional approach to emulate the feeling of stop-motion. Almost everything is on 2's with keyframes, breakdowns and in-betweens.
